After the Passport, Pilot, and Ridgeline, it's now the CR-V's turn to receive a TrailSport version—a long-awaited addition to the Japanese automaker's compact SUV lineup.
Vehicles with enhanced off-road capabilities are growing increasingly popular, and this trend now reaches more categories than ever before. Honda, one of the biggest players in the industry, has finally decided to follow suit with its most popular model.
The TrailSport trim is one of Honda’s most popular, so it goes without saying that similar success is expected for the CR-V. Contrary to what some might think, this is much more than just a cosmetic package. The TrailSport version includes real technical upgrades, such as specially designed 18-inch wheels built for off-road driving.
The cabin also receives exclusive features, including embroidered TrailSport logos on the headrests. The Japanese manufacturer adds extra-durable rubber floor mats and premium ambient lighting to complete the look.
To top it off, Honda introduces a new body color for this trim: Canyon River Green Metallic, a stunning shade also found in the latest-generation Passport’s color palette.
Honda also made the smart choice of pairing the TrailSport version with its hybrid powertrain—an excellent decision, if you ask me. This configuration delivers 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque, thanks to the combination of a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors.
As if that weren’t enough, Honda has also enhanced the overall equipment list for the 2026 CR-V. Hybrid versions now benefit from a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, along with a new 9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.
Although there’s no official launch date yet, we know the 2026 Honda CR-V will arrive at dealerships in the coming weeks. Pricing details should be announced very soon.
